Classic Alternative Tee: Vol. 1

The first in a limited edition series of lyrically-inspired, silk screen, black-market t-shirts spotlighting some of my favorite bands to come out of the 80s alternative era. Vol. 1 is a nod to Ministry’s “Jesus Built My Hotrod,” the first song the band would complete in their sessions leading up to their Psalm 69 album. While Al Jourgensen first attempted to lay down vocals for the song, nothing clicked until Gibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers came to the studio “shitfaced drunk” and, according to Al, “just showed up, threw up, spit up some gibberish and left.” Al spent the next two weeks editing and splicing together tape by hand until the “gibberish” came together as we know it today.

The shirt is a 3-color design printed on a Bella + Canvas 3001 Vintage White tee complete with a halo to signify Jesus’ masterful handiwork on this Slant-Six engine!

Single shirt orders will be shipped within the “world’s most sustainable poly mailers” from Ecoenclose. Reusable with a dual adhesive strip, these 2.5 mil mailers are comprised of 100% recycled LPDE polyethylene with 100% recycled functional resin and 50% post-consumer waste. Recyclable with thin film.
