Tom has been a successful freelancer, Art Director, Associate Art Director, and Designer over the past 2 decades.

From 2008-2014, Tom was a part-time instructor at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design where he taught Typography I & II, Advanced Typography, Type As Art, Art & Agitation, Experimental Package Design, Design Studio I, and Professional Practices & Portfolio Preparation.

Today, he operates his own business, Man Alive Creative, which offers experienced, professional and diverse art direction, photography, design & layout.


Inspired by the likes of William Christenberry, Walker Evans, Jim Marshall, and Ross Halfin, Tom integrates his deep-rooted love of music and history into two fields of photographic interest: decay and rock 'n roll. To view his ongoing archive, go here.


Tom has also accumulated a deep and celebrated resumé in the music industry: Beginning in 1995, Tom managed and created the catalog for The Misfits – including the RIAA-certified Gold coffin box set. While at Caroline, Tom acted as Project Manager for Hole, Bad Brains, Placebo and more. He later headed up North American A&R for Century Media where he went on to sign the 2-time Grammy nominated Shadows Fall as well as being named their VP of Marketing & Artist Affairs.
