I printed out my photographs, shot on location at the Dickinson brothers’ Zebra Ranch studios in rural Mississippi, and then proceeded to degrade them until I rescanned them. This generated a raw moiré pattern befitting of this fantastic album. For printing, the entire package utilizes only two Pantone inks: metallic gold and a deep navy blue. Subsequently, every image fades, enriches, or shimmers in the light as you move the packaging.

The repeating art deco pattern is my simplification of the grill of a 1936 Hudson Terraplane; the inspiration behind the sexual innuendos throughout this Robert Johnson classic. They wanted it to look and feel like a 78 rpm record but I didn't want to simply mimic a pre-existing look, so I came up with this gambling, electric, blues-ridden design steeped in lyrical inspiration.
